How To Get Here?

Bahia Rica is a hidden get-away in the costal dry forest. It is easy to get to Paquera on the Nicoya Peninsula, but it is a bit difficult to find our lodge, so please call us when you know when you will arrive and we will guide you out here and meet you at the lodge.

NB! We are NOT in Paquera “town”, we are close to the Paquera ferry landing which is about 6 km from Paquera town.

From Paquera ferry landing to Bahia Rica Fishing and Kayak Lodge:
At Paquera ferry landing there is a road going east.
NB! The turn-off is to the left immediately after you get off the ferry – it might be hard to see at first if there are cars standing in line to get on the ferry
You will drive 1,5 km east on the gravel road along the shore of Punta Cuchillo. Once on the road you will see some signs guiding you to the lodge. The Guesthouse is the 3rd wooden gate one your left hand (a blue house behind the gate). There is also a banner next to the gate (Bahia Rica Guesthouse)..

Tour departures:

Our boat tours (sport fishing, Isla Tortuga, monkey and snorkeling and whale watching) depart from the Paquera ferry landing: link to google map
We will pick you up with the boat. Go to the left side of the terminal building, where you will find some concrete steps leading down to the water. This is where you board the boat.
If you are not sure where to go, look for or ask someone where the ambulance boat is moored.

Our kayak tours, kayak rental, paddle board rental and the bioluminescence tour launch from our little beach here at Bahia Rica.
When you reach the guest house, continue down the hill, and pass a few houses until you cross a very small bridge. You’ll see a sign that says Bahia Rica Tours. Park next to it.

From here you have to walk along a path for about 200 meters, follow the small Bahia Rica signs.
