At Bahía Rica kayak and fishing lodge you will be staying in comfortable rooms in a real jungle setting. The place is perfect for relaxing in a hammock and enjoying the jungle sounds, or you can get some exercise by taking a kayak tour or walking up along the jungle paths. A relaxed atmosphere is surrounding Bahía Rica, with common areas for eating and socializing.
Bahía Rica is at Punta Cuchillo on Costa Rica’s west coast. The place is perfect for people that enjoy a calm atmosphere away from the main tourist trails. We can accommodate up to 10 guests in our big artsy tree house.
Bahía Rica kayak and fishing lodge is based on the properties of La Nicoyana a small private nature reserve. Only 200 persons are allowed to walk the trails of the reserve per year. So it is very pristine. At Bahía Rica we live close to the nature and take pride in protecting our surroundings.

- The house has 3 big rooms
- The 2 rooms on 1st floor share a bathroom and a nice big balcony
- The room on ground floor has a separate bathroom and a big terrace
- The rooms sleep from three to four people
- Hot water in the showers
- The house has a kitchen with the basics
- Orthopedic mattresses and down pillows (rarely found in Costa Rica)
- All rooms have fans
- Library and board games are available
- The view from every room and the terraces is stunning
Details
- El Alto, the guest house is situated on a hilltop with stairs going down to the beach and common area
- There are about 250 steps to walk to the sea from your room
- We have a very private beach with warm and calm water
- The common area is surrounded by lush gardens, jungle and water
- All meals are served in the common area
- Our kitchen offers an excellent cuisine with plenty of fresh fruit and seafood
- There are still more monkeys than people here!
